When the summer end day of autumnal equinox's evening,southeast Lhasa the sky, presents a very bright star star newly. By now, the Tibetan (xizang) national minority people started annual Bathing Festival.

Fable that star only appears for seven evenings. Why the people seven which presents the star night decide as Bathing Festival?

Long long ago,there is a very famous doctor on the prairie , his name is called Zituo·Yundangongbu.His medical skill is very wise, any difficult various illnesses can govern.Therefore Tibetan King Chisong Dezan asked him to be archiater, and only manages treats illness for the Tibetan(xizang) King and the imperial concubines. But, after the Yundan enters the palace, in the heart still could not forget on the prairie common people. He often borrows goes out to pick the medicine frequently the time, treats an illness to the common people. 

One year, the fearful plague is popular, many herdsmen are ill abed, some have been taken away the life. By now, Yundan ran on the vast prairie,For a family of herders ill treatment.He mining to various drugs from snow-capped mountains and forests , who eat the disease will get better.It's not know how many dying patients, the restoration of health.Yundan doctor's name was famous everywhere in the grassland, people called him the King of medicine.It is unfortunate that the death-care doctors.

After his death, There was a terrible plague in prairie, and even more serious than the previous one, many of person dead.Critical condition and herders had to kneel on the ground to Cangtian pray that the kingdom of heaven bless.One day,there is a woman who was a faster death by the disease afflicted.She made a dream suddenly ,Yundan doctor said that : "Tomorrow night, when the southeast sky in a bright star, you can go to JiQu river to bathe, wash after the disease will get better."in her dream! Sure enough,after the women bathing in theJiQu river  , immediately eliminate the disease.This spread beyond a novelty, all the patients came to bathe in the river.All the patients taking a bath, have eliminated the disease and restore health.

 People say, this strange star is Yundan doctors changed.Yundan doctors see the people of grassland plague attack in the kingdom of heaven,he can not come to earth to give people medical treatment,then become a star himself, to impress the river into a syrup, so that people bathe in the river in order to place the disease .Because God only gives Yundan seven days, so this star will appear only seven days.

Since then,The Tibetan (xizang) national minority people decide as these seven days Bathing Festival,Every regional herdsmen take a bath in the nearby river water at this time every year ! It is said that after takes a bath,the person will hapyy and health,does not live disease.
